James Beatrice was born in 1948. Grew up in Newton, Massachusetts. Graduated Newton High School. Attended Mass College of Art and Decordova Museum School. Studied with Henry Hensche at The Cape School of Art from 1983 to 1988. He has lived and painted in Boston, MA; Scottsdale, AZ; Topanga Canyon, CA; Los Angeles, CA; Hillsboro, NM; Cochituate, MA and Boxford, MA; and has spent five Summers in Provincetown, MA studying painting. He now resides in Auburndale, MA. Jim has had a great passion for painting since early childhood and has grown to be a full time painter. He now has a number of painter friends that comprise a fellowship which nourishes and inspires him.
